Fantastic dishes with authentic flavours The fish soup transported me to South west France.
The fish was too small but well cooked and the price that was VERY EXPENSIVE for a town just over the coast with fish really on the door step. VERY EXPENSIVE
Popped in to Dunbar to find somewhere for a bite to eat whilst on our way to Fonab Castle for the weekend. Found the Creel a few minutes from the high Street. Ordered the Shellfish soup and toasted sandwich combo and was only expecting a fairly normal snack taste experience. How wrong could we be. Out comes our food, two quite small bowls of soup and very luxurious looking toasted sandwiches along with some garnish and decorations. Biting into my cheese and onion toasty my eyes rose to see my wife doing likewise. They tasted amazing. These had been made with love. Next step the soup. What an amazing flavour, like a lobster bisque. Lovely and rich and at just the right temperature. This was no ordinary snack type lunch. This was food that my wife and I were still talking about, even during a five star dining experience at Sandemans that evening. Thank you to the Creel for a lovely lunch. We will be back!
Fantastic food & service. Wine was excellent too. Logan couldn't accommodate our request for seafood platter, but made us a complementary amazing lobster dish with aioli. The little rhubarb palette cleansers & other little touches makes The Creel THE place to eat in Dunbar.
For the second time going to the Creel itn was excellent. Delightful surroundings, very attentive service and very good food at a reasonable price. Very worth a visit and definitely will go back again.
